belated hk/macau/shenzhen 8d7n zou dao jiao suan jiao tong you...
more than just walk until leg pain/ache....n also lots of mai dong xi n chi dong xi...
finally have time to pen down this memorable holidays cos i have fallen sick n decided that i shld stay at home n rest n also self quarantine...afterall it wont be nice to spread germs to others...
day 0
our flight was like 6+ i think...so we had to reach airport at abt 4+...despite the irregular hours, we kept our spirits n moods high. 3 hours later we reach hongkong! dong fang zhi zhu!
day 1
the moment we touched down, we were greeted by a downpour but it did not dampen our spirits...after we reach the arrival hall, saw something of a culture shock to me....the fa lun gong thing had something like a strike there...not wanting to invite troubles...i did not wanna pay much attention n just move on with the crowd n follow the instructions of the enforcers... we wanted to take a coach to our hotel but the road was blocked so we were advised to take train instead...a blessing in disguise...cos we got a good deal with the octopus card(something like our ezlink) n were able to reach our hotel promptly. On our way to the hotel the weather was fine but after we were ready to get to our first destination it started to rain heavily....lucky we had our umbrellas with us...to think i was still reluctant to bring the day earlier...only to know its usefulness in the days the come...our first destination was the wong tai sin temple.... looks like its quite normal to carry umbrellas n walk ard in hk...despite the rain there were still many pple on the streets...then we went to snoopy world...haha...the rain haven stop....n the park was like open air...but WE DUN CARE la...taking photos in the rain like we were small kids....then we spend our time in the shopping malls n i bought myself a harmonica! haha...tourists have more reason to shop...keke...never pronounce hot as "shao" but "re" in hk...haha...the blur face on the waiter is so amusing.....due to the rain...i think most of the stalls in temple street were closed...so we just walk walk n then headed back to hotel to plan for our 2nd day...
day 2
yuan yang is not really my cup of tea...tried in spore...din like it...so i thot i shld try in hk n see if the autentic one taste any better...hmm...erm....still not to my liking.....lantau island!! still raining! but its actually quite good la...at least it damn cooling....an advice to anyone going there...i think its better to go up to the buddha first then can purchase a tic which includes a vegetarian meal and then explore the other areas...believe or not...i tried to qiu qian...but i din get any....it might be becos of this want to know yet scare to know in me...i tried like 6/7 times but no results...there is this "lucky pan"...if u rub it correctly(or if u have luck) its supposed to have ripples...keke...i couldnt do it the first time...but the 2nd i did it...so happy...for a du shen(gui) like me...whats more impt than luck...haha...then more shopping again...after that its down to the streets...its hksar 10th yr of return to china...the streets were filled with pple celebrating this joyous occassion n catch the fireworks......then we proceed to have some desserts at "Hui lau shan(HLS)" hehe...on the outside it looks like its super sweet, but its actually not..so for those who dun have sweet tooth it will be ideal..
day 3
autentic hk dim sum in the morning...haha...like we always see in hk drama/movies...finally we all had our haircuts...think jas n desmond had the more makeover.....went to causeway bay to shop walk jalan...spend time in vain looking for XTC!...but jas n ml found krispy kreme! damn nice!...next destination was the peak! finally seeing the things that i heard over so many times in front of my own eyes...another visit to madame tussaud...i think the funniest one is the one in sumo...but so smelly hahaha....n the gers dare to try but not me n des...keke...then we went lan kwai fong...tsk...it was a sunday night so not many pple there, so we just settle in a nicely decorated pub...tourist can do more things there...haha...we wore berms n slippers into their pubs n we werent turned away...
day 4
disneyland!! haha...everyone was telling me not to go there but i am glad i went... i mean if u r looking for thrilling rides then the place will disappoint u....but i think if u r looking for a cosy, magical time...then it fits the bill...there is a super andy lau lookalike gate staff ....his side view looks exactly like him...ha...we were denied entry the first time cos we had pies in our bags...so ke lian....then jas were denied the 2nd time...more ke lian...haha...but i think the staff see her so ke lian so took pity on her la...altogether we watch 3 shows....simba, 3d show and stitch...all were nice...n stitch is so funny...so all in all...i think it was money well-spent in disney for a whole day of fun for me..
day 5
breakfast at charlie brown restaurant...hmm...its nicely decor...but its also very quiet...then we went to the wishing tree...cannot throw the thing on the tree anymore...although to be frank...it not that bad also...rather than making a wish then not able to throw the thing on the tree...i think the disappointment will be more immense...no disrespect...but to my surprise...the expense at the wishing tree can be quite a lot...but ok la...all for ping an...as long as it works...then we went to shenzhen...its like another culture shock...there is this sense of insecurity the moment i reached there...went for a spa...the stone rub is so painful la...n to my shock...my thigh was all red after that...n painful...pai du...took the train to "windows of the world(shi jie zhi zhuang)" but on the way...we realised that it wasnt really worthwhile to enter since all the shows and rides have ended...so we just walked ard outside the place...ni gei wo yi tian, wo gei ni chuan shi jie.
day 6
macau! the first feeling it gave me is its like a mini europe...n casinos were really everywhere n anywhere... the weather was really hot n we were really quite clueless...so in the end we chose to take a guided tour...intially i thot was a reasonable deal...but at the end of it i find that it not...cos i think the money we paid could have allowed us to take cabs to the places we were taken to as well...ok...there was value added services la...he brought us to buy tasty egg tarts..n gave us some history lesson...but like only jas n i listened...ml n des were sleeping soundly behind...haha.. the guide brought us to the st paul wall, the ah ma temple, the macau tower, and fisherman wharf....then we went to the one of the most iconic place in macau...dog racing! but its really sunset industry there liao...the place is quite old n not many pple go there anymore...but its still fun for new kids on the block like us..haha...i am the big loser la...someone still yaya over her victories...say she knows how to choose the winning dog...hahaha....well...sheng zhe wei wang, bai zhe wei kou....then we went to casino of cos...how can we spend a day in macau not going to any casino...but having limited resources n not wanting to be victim of losing money...none of us really spend much money betting...P.S...the boat ride is really bumpy n dun be shy to puke...haha...i din puke on the ship but almost cos quite a number was puking n it really made me feel like puking too...tsk...
day 7
ocean park! i think we r quite lucky cos it din rained...i think if it rained then we cant make it to ocean park liao....how can go hk dun go ocean park...haha...but then its friday n its very packed... earlier desmon already mentioned that he may not want to go ocean park cos he do not want to take the rides...but we wanted to go...its like quite a dilemma...but in the end he went with us... the rides were more thrilling...i think the most scary one is viking...haha...after ocean park...we made our way to repulse bay...but i think it was too late...also dunno what to explore that...so in the end went to avenue of stars....a cosy breezy walk...slowing bringing our holidays to an end...n we found XTC! so so only la the ice-cream...some recommendation by my bro...haha.. but the boy attending the shop was cute...haha..i am not gay...i just find him cute....the rest of us found him cute also...
day 8
check out....breakfast...then we splited our ways to shop...i made such a funny blunder la...i wanted to buy the lao po bing then jas mother recommended...then i thought its at another mtr...so i took the mtr...only to realised its redundant la...then i went to buy the lao po bing n then with so much time to spare...i decided to shop! i bought 4 tops n 4 bottoms...haha... of which i think 1 top was quite rash decision...a lil big for me...then a berms which i also felt a lil too big... then one last bowl of HLS b4 going back to hotel to collect our luggage n fly back to spore....home sweet home....
Lastly, many thanks to des, ml and jas for planning all the itineries...hehe...
